Celebrating Maidstone
Over the years the University for the Creative Arts, Maidstone College of Art and Kent Institute of Art and Design have produced an impressive legacy for the creative arts and have nurtured many artistic talents, so there is much to celebrate and remember.
Photos from the Celebrating Maidstone event are available here
As you may know in July 2011 the UCA Board of Governors accepted a formal offer from MidKent College to purchase the UCA campus at Oakwood Park. This means that over the next two years UCA will be withdrawing from its Oakwood Park Campus and will become a four campus University, but will still maintain a presence in Maidstone through its successful collaboration with Maidstone Studios.
In celebration of this, on the 19th May two hundred or so alumni, students and members of staff, both past and present met to remember the good times and the achievements of those who had been on the Maidstone campus over the years.
Following a welcome drink, guests attended a 'Memories of Maidstone' talk, tours of the campus and a celebration meal and entertainment. The event finished at approximately 7.30pm and a great time was had by all.
As part of the event we are producing a time capsule. If you would like your memories to be a part of this, please bring along photographs from your time at Maidstone to include as part of this project. These could be of your work, the campus or friends.* please email maidstonereunion@ucreative.ac.uk with your copy.
