Sébastien Freuler profile

Sébastien Freuler

Work is enlightenment.

After graduating from UCA, with a BA(Hons) in Animation, Sebastien Freuler pursued his passion in the world of moving images working as a freelancer for a number of London based animation studios such as Bermuda Shorts and Blunt Films and worked for a start-up company involved in customisable comedy clips for mobile phones.

He then formed a collective of contemporary artists called Airimages Collective  that used photographic and cinematic mediums with live environments such as galleries and public spaces. The collective collaborated closely at venues and exhibitions such as Free Range and received sponsorship by the Swiss Cultural Fund in Britain, photography studio Imagin and modelling agency Carpe Diem.

Sebastien has also kept strong ties with fellow UCA Alumni students and has worked on the post- production of documentaries and video clips with director Ian Pons Jewell, Max Mallen and producer Konstantinos Vassilaros. He said: "I find an essential part of creativity is to value the idea of working within a group of creative and dynamic people because I believe that bringing many different ideas into one project can make it all the more interesting and successful. During my year at UCA I had the chance to meet people who were on the same wavelength as me, I think it is very important to preserve these strong ties."

After his postgraduate degree in Image & Communication, Sebastien moved to Switzerland where he now works as a Graphic Producer for UEFA's TV Department. He specializes in broadcast motion graphics for internal and external productions, magazine shows and online video content. He still pursues multiple online projects as a hobby and keeps an online archive of his personal, professional and academic work.

He added "I am extremely lucky, through perseverance I have finally managed to turn my passion into my job and I am finally able to earn a living to found a family."
