End of Year Shows for FE Students (27 May 2002)
Press Release (no.39)
27 May 2002
For the students on KIAD's Foundation and National Diploma Courses, the end is in sight. The End of Year Shows, that is. This week the students are whitewashing the walls and applying the finishing touches to their individual exhibits in preparation for Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June, when KIAD opens its doors. In the following days everyone is welcome to come and see what can be achieved on KIAD's one- and two-year further education courses.
KIAD's Foundation Course and National Diploma students arrive with a range of academic backgrounds; some with a clutch of A levels, others with a few GCSE's. Wherever they start from, successful students can look forward to moving on to degree courses in art, architecture and design or, ready for work, to the first rung on the career ladder.
At the End of Year Shows there are plenty of surprises in the studios that the students have turned into galleries for the duration. Lots of the work is for sale so there is the opportunity to spot and buy the work of a rising creative star too.
