UCA alumni nominated for Children's BAFTA

Grizzly tales

A husband and wife team who met whilst studying at the University for the Creative Arts' Farnham campus in the 1970s have been nominated for a Children's BAFTA.

Simon and Sara Bor were nominated in the 'Best Animation' category of the awards for  series seven of  'Grizzly Tales' based on the much-loved morality tales of Jamie Rix.

Now on Nickelodeon, 'Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids' first ran for six series between 2000 and 2006 on ITV1. To date, it has picked up many awards including 'Animated Series' and 'Children's Choice' at the British Animation Awards, and 'Children's Animated Series' at Cartoons on the Bay.

Simon and Sara founded their own animation studios, Honeycomb Animation in 1982, shortly after completing their studies at Farnham. Other series they've produced include 'Wolves Witches & Giants' for CiTV and 'Binka' for CBeebies.

The Children's BAFTAs will be announced on 27 November
