Our facilities
UCA is all about exploration and this means our facilities take pride of place.
You have access to extensive resources to support all your study needs including:
- Industry standard Gerber suite for fashion pattern cutting
- High-end computers loaded with the latest software for animation, architecture and digital design
- Extensive photography facilities including darkrooms, studios and a range of film and digital photography equipment
- Workshops for ceramics, glass, wood and metals
- Studio spaces and workshops for painting, sculpture, fashion and filmmaking
- Dedicated team of subject-specific technicians
- Journalism and broadcasting facilities including a TV journalism room with live news feed, a TV studio with viewing gallery and radio suites.

University Library
In addition to course-specific facilities you also have access to the University Library on each campus. Collectively, the libraries provide one of the most comprehensive visual arts resources in the region with:
- Around 300,000 print and electronic books
- Over 20,000 videos and DVDs
- Over 12,000 print and electronic journals
- Computer suites for research and coursework
- Links to over 45 specialist databases including image collections, newspaper archives and business data
- Access to the UCA online research repository.
Each library has a dedicated subject support team to help you use the facilities and services. There is also a Study Adviser at each library to help you get the most out of your lectures and seminars, improve your academic writing skills and develop a better understanding of academic practices and methods.
