UCA Maidstone

UCA Maidstone

With a thriving town centre surrounded by glorious Kentish countryside, Maidstone has a wealth of attractions for students offering a mix of history, culture, leisure and entertainment.

As the county town of Kent, Maidstone is a lively market town with fantastic shopping areas and with at least 14 late night venues is regarded as the club capital of Kent. Maidstone has a thriving artistic community with varied arts activities and alternative spaces for exhibitions as well as its theatre, cinema and music venues playing an active role in the artistic life of the town.

The UCA campus is set in leafy Oakwood Park, just 15 minutes walk from the town centre. With courses specialising in areas such as animation, graphic design, video, photography and illustration you'll find a diverse artistic community where you are actively encouraged and supported to push your artistic practice to the limits.

Note: UCA's Board of Governors has agreed to accept MidKent College's offer to purchase the Oakwood Park Campus, UCA Maidstone. We believe the sale is in the best long term interest of the University, its staff and student.

The purchase is of the estate, buildings and grounds only and will not affect UCA's academic business. Students starting or continuing on the Maidstone campus in September 2011 will be able to complete their qualifications there, on the courses on which they have enrolled, delivered by UCA staff.

We will do everything we can to ensure our students have the highest quality student experience over the next three years and remain in good standing throughout the remainder of their studies.

A decision has now been made on some of the undergraduate and pre-degree courses at UCA Maidstone. Further decisions about other courses at UCA Maidstone are pending.

From 2012 BA (Hons) Illustration will be offered at UCA Farnham. BA (Hons) Graphic Design: Visual Communications will not be recruiting for 2012 entry. For further details of our other undergraduate graphics courses see our undergraduate course pages.

Recent changes to the delivery of some undergraduate courses at our Maidstone Campus do not impact on our pre-degree (FE) provision, which will continue as planned. We are committed to delivering pre-degree (FE) courses at all campuses until 2014 and will review provision beyond that point once we know the full detail of the funding changes affecting the FE sector beyond 2012/13. For more information please see our pre-degree course pages.
