Green businesses to receive CfSD support
Green innovators in the South East will soon benefit from a range of free services from The Centre for Sustainable Design (CfSD) at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA).
The CfSD, which is based at UCA Farnham, has been awarded £300,000 by the European Commission's Interreg IVA programme through FUSION, a project which will offer free support and advice to small and medium enterprises that are developing eco-innovative services, products and technologies, plus graduates and others looking to start-up businesses in the same areas.
CfSD will launch its FUSION services during UCA's annual Green Week campaign (6-10 February) to raise awareness of the fantastic opportunities that eco-innovative businesses can achieve.
Through the CfSD, FUSION will provide eco-innovation consultancy and research, related to the development, funding and marketing of products, to individuals and companies based in Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, West Sussex or East Sussex.
Martin Charter, Director of CfSD, said: "By sharing experiences and networking with the other European partners involved in FUSION, the CfSD will be able to build on the eco-innovation expertise that it has provided to more than 650 small and medium enterprises in the South East over the last three years.
"CfSD and its partners have enabled a considerable number of businesses to develop new eco-innovative product concepts, identify new market opportunities and win new business, which are so important in these tough times."
The Centre for Sustainable Design (CfSD) www.cfsd.org.uk has built-up an international reputation since its inception in 1995 and is actively involved in sustainability initiatives regionally, nationally and globally.
