Students pitch ideas to Eurotunnel Le Shuttle

Eurotunnel live project

Four students from University for the Creative Arts (UCA) at Rochester have won prizes for a live project they undertook with Eurotunnel Le Shuttle.

Third year BA (Hons) Design, Branding & Marketing students were asked to develop a marketing strategy for the company's Frequent Traveller product as part of their final project.

The challenging brief sought to reposition and acquire new customers in order to grow the established Frequent Traveller programme.

The four best concepts were invited to pitch their ideas to senior staff at Eurotunnel Le Shuttle's Folkestone headquarters.

Deborah Elliott, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Senior Product Manager, said: "The concepts proved both memorable and campaignable.

"They were researched thoroughly and with excellent consideration given to integrating a range of initiatives in support of their main idea."

First prize of a premium trip to the continent on Eurotunnel Le Shuttle's FlexiPlus service was awarded to Hayley Hedges for her 'compelling, highly polished concepts that she presented with flair.'

Course Leader, Jane Armstrong, said: "The live project is an integral part of our final year programme in which students undertake briefs set by industry.

"This was a demanding project, asking students to research and understand the dynamics of integrated communications and deliver highly creative yet realistic outcomes.

"I am delighted that they have demonstrated their commercial acumen, and feel confident that this project will help launch their careers after graduating this summer."
