Before studying or working abroad, you may want to consider brushing up on your language skills

UCA holds a range of language learning materials within the libraries for you to make use of. However, if you are of a more adventurous nature, you may want to consider language learning abroad.

Erasmus Intensive Language courses (EILCs)

Erasmus students are eligible to participate in EILCs, which are summer courses lasting between 3 and 8 weeks aimed at students wanting to learn the language of the country they will be studying in. The courses are free of charge and offer two levels of teaching (beginners and intermediate). To apply for an EILC you must submit an application form to the Study Abroad Office. There may also be funding available to cover other intensive courses if you are considering an Erasmus exchange. Contact the Study Abroad Office for more information.

For more information about EILCs, participating countries and institutions please see the Erasmus website.

Other intensive language courses

If you are an Erasmus student and the EILCs is not appropriate to your study or work placement, you may qualify for other intensive language courses. Please contact the Study Abroad Office for further information
